In the romantic, suspenseful thriller “Charade,” the viewer may not know who to trust, but he or she can be certain that Audrey Hepburn’s style in this 1963 classic is undeniably chic.
Hepburn’s character, Regina Lampert, has lost her wealthy, criminal husband, and is being chased by numerous men who desire the fortune.
One such pursuer is that of the equally fashionable Cary Grant, who plays Peter Joshua. Yet, in the end, it is Hepburn’s sleek look that has landed her, and one of her accessories, into the ‘Scarf Star’ category.
In one particularly paranoid scene, Hepburn dons a down-right fabulous trench coat and matching head scarf that partially conceals her beautiful brown locks. Although her character is trying to hide, her effortlessly elegant style always makes her stand out from the crowd.
In “Charade,” Hepburn models many magnificent looks, but her matching trench and scarf ensemble is one of my favorites.
