The themes of the Zazou Fall 2013 Collection have been briefly mentioned in previous posts. To refresh your memory, the three pillars of Zazou include LuminosityTexture and Warmth.

When creating these three standards, designer Christopher Carroll had very specific messages in mind. He wanted to convey the attributes of Zazou scarves and fingerless gloves that stand out the most and that mean the most to the customers that enjoy the products.

Many pieces in the Fall line are luminous in the way that the sequins, glitter or pure sheen of the fabric reflect the light. Some of the accessories, including the Japanese Deco scarf, are magically reflective and pure, and it all stems from the illuminating qualities of the jacquard fabric.

Zazou masterpieces are also rich in their texture as well, meaning that one accessory can not only dazzle your eyes, but your sense of touch as well. Two of the most texturally interesting pieces include the Floating Thread Wrap scarf and the Angel Hair scarf. The two items are made of silk with either thread of a different solid color or metallic color intricately weaved throughout the design. It was made sure in the creation process, however, that the silk part of the scarf was the section that touched your delicate skin, and the other, more textured threads created a type of plumage on the outer section of the scarf so as not to irritate the wearer’s collarbone and neck area.

Lastly, one of the most basic, utilitarian purposes of a scarf or glove is to keep its owner warm and safe from the elements, Luckily for the stylish women of 2013, Zazou scarves keep them toasty, while maintaining chic designs and vibrant prints and patterns. Some of the warmest pieces come from the collection of knits designs by Carroll. One such comfy creation is that of Lattice Knit Scarf, which is available in green. black and plum grey. These deeper hues personify the the earthy warmth that these knit pieces provide. Additionally, most of the knits are adorned with decorative fringe in varying lengths, adding personality to each cozy wrap.

Which theme from the Zazou 2013 Fall collection will you boast this upcoming season, or will you indulge in all three?

Fifteen days, 120 hours, 1,140 miles. The experience of an internship: priceless!

My little zebras, I have dedicated many hours and driven many miles to Sterling Styles and Zazou, but even those figures above surprised me!

For my shift today, I will be making the finishing touches on our NYNOW365 ad campaign (the one that is similar to Pinterest), and I will also be pitching my ideas about the Zazou website to Christopher Carroll and other people involved.

I will also be posting as much as I can to this blog today, seeing as there will be a limited amount of updates in the near future.

One of my favorite projects I have done here, however, is that of the internship guide I wrote on Tuesday. Although it was not a requirement of this internship or the Apparel Merchandising and Management class associated with it, I thought it would be nice to proved pages with tips, usernames and passwords for any future interns who are lucky enough to work for Sterling Styles and Zazou. Hopefully it will be of use to any Cal Poly Pomona students who sit at this desk.

Thank you so much for reading, and stay fashionable my little zebras!

Love, Micheala

1209 Studio Scarf is its name, bold, angular graphics is its game!

This vibrant scarf, composed of mustard and brown colors, perfectly assorts lines and triangles to create an extremely attention-grabbing print.

The scarf is fresh from the Fall 2013 Zazou Collection, and wholesales for $12. It is 20″ by 75″ slub rayon with combed fringe.  Aside from the mahogany color palette that is pictured above, this scarf is also offered in onyx, which involves a dark blue and grey.

Whereas most scarves are thick and chunkier to protect the wearer from the elements, this 1210 Morning Glory Scarf is thin, broad and delicate. It maintains the ombre effect, as light blue at the top becomes dark blue, then finally turns into a soft green.

This piece from the Zazou Fall 2013 Collection wholesales for a mere $14 and is 20″ by 70″ slub rayon with combed fringe (the fringe is microscopic in comparison to the dipped knit scarf!). The lovely wrap comes in three different colors: sage (shown), sand and blue.

My lovelies, by the end of today, I will have completed no less than 111 hours of my internship!

It seems like only yesterday I was driving from a showroom presentation at the California Market Center to be interviewed for Sterling Styles and Zazou!

All right, all right, enough reminiscing, let’s get down to business!

Today has already been a hectic day. Before even coming into work, a firetruck and ambulance came to my house because my brother was possibly bit my a spider. He swelled up like a balloon and was covered in red rashes. Luckily the paramedics said he was going to be OK, and with that assurance, I started my car and drove to work, where I sit here typing now.

Today I have made necessary alteration for the Pinterest board Zazou and Sterling Styles has utilized through NYNOW365, which is in correlation with the NY showroom the two brands will be presenting at later this month.  I also plan on adding more images to the pin boards so everyone can see even more of the fabulous Zazou and Sterling Styles merchandise.

For the rest of my shift, I will work on improving the Sterling Styles Retail website, call potential customers, work on this Zazou blog, create storylines for Zazou Fall collection and lastly, I hope to make a detailed binder filled with information any future Zazou interns will need to thrive in this position. For example, I will provide the urls of any sites, with their corresponding usernames and passwords.  There is so much online information, including this blog, that future copy writers will need to access.

While creating the online promotions and spreads, I utilized skills from AMM 270, Visual Merchandising and Store Design.

As always, wish me luck and have a great day my little zebras!

Happy Thursday my pretty little zebras!

Today has been a bit unorthodox for me, which I love! Instead of primarily sitting at my desk typing away at my computer, I have been busy helping one of my fellow interns in the sample room. The sample room is filled to the brim with clothes and accessories, and the walls are lined with beautiful scarves of all shapes, colors, sizes and textures.

Our task for the afternoon was to organize the scarves onto boards, and line them up in accordance to color, length, fabrication and by how many scarves in that particular style we had in stock.

This was a fun challenge because it was extremely tangible and we were able to express our creativity.

Now, the room is miraculously organized, and all of the scarves are ready to be sent to the various showrooms Sterling Styles and Zazou will be participating in throughout the month of August.

We used skills learned from classes such as AMM 270 and 160 and AMM 160L, Textile Sciences, because we also organized the pieces by fabrication when necessary.

However, I am now back to my copywriting duties, typing away as I create content for this blog and the Zazou website. Earlier, I also completed some clerical work for the office.

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling Zazou 22!

Hello little zebras! Today, July 30, 2013, is my 22nd birthday and my 12th day here at my Zazou and Sterling Styles internship. Therefore, the alternative title to this post could be Internship Day 12!

It has already been a busy morning. After arriving at 9:30 a.m., I changed the links on our Mail Chimp email blasts from venue information to show information. This means that when customers click the links, they will receive information about each show that Zazou is manning a showroom within, instead of just information about the location hosting the event. This was a learning experience for me, and I am glad I was able to change this information today.

Additionally, I was able to email product information and images to NYNOW, a site for one of the showroom locations Zazou will be participating in. The below image will be posted on NYNOW, allowing buyers and other exhibitors to view the information in a Pinterest-like manner.

6455 Dappled Knit Loop

This is the 6455 Dappled Knit Loop, and I must say, I think the model looks absolutely stunning!

I have more than 800 Sterling Styles descriptive blurbs done, so I will hopefully complete the last 200 today.

The letter for Zazou sales representatives has been finalized as well, and I shall await more assignments from the head honchos here at Zazou and Sterling Styles.

Thank you so much for sharing my birthday with me. Think good thoughts about a fun and productive day, while enjoying this very appropriate Taylor Swift song!!

Hello my lovely little Zazou Zebras!

I want to wish you a happy weekend. I will return to my Zazou and Sterling Styles duties on Tuesday, July 30, which is actually my 22nd birthday!

It will be my honor to share my birthday here with you, and until then, happy reading!

Love, Micheala

I have officially created 819 descriptive blurbs, ranging from dresses, pants, scarves and purses! My creative juices remain strong – let us hope I can still think of 200 more!

It is already Thursday morning of July 25, 2013! Where or where has the time gone?!

Although I am primarily on my computer during my hours here at Sterling Styles, Inc. and Zazou, time usually flies by, which is why, I suppose, I should not be surprised that it is already the end of my sixth week at my internship.

As always, I will be working diligently on the Sterling Style descriptive blogs and various email blasts for Sterling Styles and Zazou.

I will also be discussing a letter to prospective buyers draft with Christopher Carroll, who will surely give me important tips and instructions on how to properly write and forward this important Zazou letter.

Also, in between Zazou1982 blog posts and my other Zazou assignments, I will be admiring the new Zazou Fall 2013 Catalog, which features beautiful scarves and fingerless gloves that all embody luminosity, texture and warmth. I will use what I learned in AMM 443A, APparel Market Analysis Report. That class primarily consisted of writing, an activity I indulge in every single day here at Sterling Styles and Zazou.
