Zazou Photo Shoot – Morning Glory

Whereas most scarves are thick and chunkier to protect the wearer from the elements, this 1210 Morning Glory Scarf is thin, broad and delicate. It maintains the ombre effect, as light blue at the top becomes dark blue, then finally turns into a soft green.

This piece from the Zazou Fall 2013 Collection wholesales for a mere $14 and is 20″ by 70″ slub rayon with combed fringe (the fringe is microscopic in comparison to the dipped knit scarf!). The lovely wrap comes in three different colors: sage (shown), sand and blue.

Zazou Photo Shoot – Cambodia Rico

Both intricate and ambiguous, the cream, maroon and violet patterns swirl effortlessly around the fabric of this 20″ by 75″ georgette scarf. It is hard to decipher what exactly the print entails, but it is incredibly simple to see how beautiful and eye-catching it truly is.

This 1227 Indochine Scarf, a member of Zazou’s Fall 2013 collection, wholesales for $12 and was inspired by temples from the depths of the jungle.

The accessory is offered in crimson (shown), shadow blue and spice. The latter has more brown and beige coloring.

Zazou Photo Shoot – Rashel Ombre

This Autumn-inspired, orange and brown ombre scarf has fringe and fierceness for days! Where some scarves utilize only an inch or two of fringe, this scarf, from the Fall 2013 Zazou collection, has nearly a foot of fabulous fringe, giving it an air of playfulness.

This 6199 Dipped Knit Scarf wholesales for $18 and is 8″ by 87″. It is characterized as a butterknit with long fringe (you can say that again!). It is offered in cinnamon/brown (pictured), grayed denim, plum/cabernet and blue.

Scarf Stars – “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”

In a galaxy far, far away, there was a spectacular scarf company known as Zazou.

Zazou was smart to invest in scarves, because everyone, may they be a spaceship pilot or a Jedi warrior, needs to stay warm, and a scarf is the perfect accessory to do just that.

As you may have guessed, this most recent addition of “Scarf Stars”  focuses on the one, the only, “Star Wars.”

In 1980, the second “Star Wars” film was made by George Lucas. It was “Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back,” and one of the settings within its famous plot is that of the icy planet Hoth, in which white snow constantly falls from the sky and blankets the ground below.

 

While traveling in Hoth, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) must brace the cold by wrapping themselves in thick coats, goggles, caps and scarves.

In the end, however, even the warmth of their thick scarves and clothes cannot shield them from the snowy tundra. All that can save Luke in the end is the cozy, albeit gruesome, innards of his Tauntaun. Desperate times call for desperate measures, as they say.

 

Later in the film, in the warmer comforts of the Millennium Falcon, Solo dons another scarf, which keeps his hot head attached to his neck as he screams at the ever-startled C-3PO (Anthony Daniels).

Internship – Day 14!

My lovelies, by the end of today, I will have completed no less than 111 hours of my internship!

It seems like only yesterday I was driving from a showroom presentation at the California Market Center to be interviewed for Sterling Styles and Zazou!

All right, all right, enough reminiscing, let’s get down to business!

Today has already been a hectic day. Before even coming into work, a firetruck and ambulance came to my house because my brother was possibly bit my a spider. He swelled up like a balloon and was covered in red rashes. Luckily the paramedics said he was going to be OK, and with that assurance, I started my car and drove to work, where I sit here typing now.

Today I have made necessary alteration for the Pinterest board Zazou and Sterling Styles has utilized through NYNOW365, which is in correlation with the NY showroom the two brands will be presenting at later this month.  I also plan on adding more images to the pin boards so everyone can see even more of the fabulous Zazou and Sterling Styles merchandise.

For the rest of my shift, I will work on improving the Sterling Styles Retail website, call potential customers, work on this Zazou blog, create storylines for Zazou Fall collection and lastly, I hope to make a detailed binder filled with information any future Zazou interns will need to thrive in this position. For example, I will provide the urls of any sites, with their corresponding usernames and passwords.  There is so much online information, including this blog, that future copy writers will need to access.

 

While creating the online promotions and spreads, I utilized skills from AMM 270, Visual Merchandising and Store Design.

Cover Girl

 

Though this particular image was not selected for the cover of the Fall 2013 Zazou Catalogue, I still find it striking, romantic and soft.

The model’s face is extremely poignant, as she sweetly stares off into the distance, adorned in the Storm Coverup from Zazou. Around her are little june bugs and fireflies, who buzz and whisper softly as they float around her face.

Chic sophistication is properly exemplified through this image and its motif of “less is more” is successfully communicated.

I am sorry, but when I saw the name of this fabulous scarf from the Fall 2013 Zazou collection, I just HAD to post this  song from the 1992 Disney classic, “Aladdin.”

This Zazou piece, which sells under the style number 1207, comes in three colors: excalibur (shown), fuchsia and tile blue. It is 20″ by 75″ slub rayon with combed fringe and wholesales for $12.  And, with that monetary fact in mind, it is important to note that styles which are $12 and under must be associated with a minimum order of two per color, and the minimum order itself is $200.

Throw on this scarf and fly toward your dreams on you own magic carpet!

Nothing proclaims sophistication and maturity like a wine colored garment!

This eyelet knit scarf, from the Fall 2013 Zazou collection is a beautiful, deep red-wine color. 

This scarf, which plays with the idea of stripes, is 13″ by 65″ acrylic knit. It wholesales for $17 and will keep you warm and chic all year long. 

Internship – Day 13!

Happy Thursday my pretty little zebras!

Today has been a bit unorthodox for me, which I love! Instead of primarily sitting at my desk typing away at my computer, I have been busy helping one of my fellow interns in the sample room. The sample room is filled to the brim with clothes and accessories, and the walls are lined with beautiful scarves of all shapes, colors, sizes and textures.

Our task for the afternoon was to organize the scarves onto boards, and line them up in accordance to color, length, fabrication and by how many scarves in that particular style we had in stock.

This was a fun challenge because it was extremely tangible and we were able to express our creativity.

Now, the room is miraculously organized, and all of the scarves are ready to be sent to the various showrooms Sterling Styles and Zazou will be participating in throughout the month of August.

We used skills learned from classes such as AMM 270 and 160 and AMM 160L, Textile Sciences, because we also organized the pieces by fabrication when necessary.

However, I am now back to my copywriting duties, typing away as I create content for this blog and the Zazou website. Earlier, I also completed some clerical work for the office.

Scarf Stars – “Sex and the City”

You know you loved the risque, HBO hit “Sex and the City” from 1998 to 2004. And then you enjoyed the two big-budget films, made in 2008 and 2010. Although the story lines were sometimes vain and contrived, the style NEVER disappointed.

All four main characters, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte York (Kristen Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) had their own unique style and take on fashion and accessories.

Samantha was all about the sex appeal, whereas Miranda upheld the chic businesswoman look. And Charlotte (my favorite), was always perfectly preppy and sweet. And then there was the fashion lover and risk taker, Carrie, who, especially in the second “Sex and the City” motion picture, took chances with her scarf accessories.

In “Sex and the City 2,” Carrie and the girls embark on a trip to the United Arab Emirates, in which the unrelenting sun beats down harder and hotter than any summer day in New York.

To help protect herself from the heat, while still remaining trendy and fashionable, Carrie dons a shimmering, striped turban after her and her gal pals arrive at the airport.

Later in the trip, the foursome, who are used to catching rides in limos and cabs, instead trek across the desert dunes on camels. Again, to protect themselves from the relentless heat, Carrie and Samantha, in particular, fashion head pieces and wraps to shield their faces from the afternoon rays.

Carrie:

1102 Chopstick and Noodle Scarf – This youthful, fresh scarf screams Carrie Bradshaw, and I think her small, gold “Carrie” necklace would look dashing underneath this wrap.

Samantha:

6394 Palms Scarf – Inspired by her move to Los Angeles with Smith Jared, I believe the sun-loving Samantha would gravitate toward this resort-wear inspired accessory. While strolling along the California beaches, Sam could lightly drape this black and white piece over an equally chic black bikini, paired with a wide brimmed hat and round black sunglasses. Fabulous!

Charlotte:

797 Rose Scarf – Charlotte was always the hopeless romantic. She preferred walks through a vibrant garden in Central Park to walks of shame. Therefore, this beautifully rich, lovely red rose scarf would be perfect for Charlotte’s cheerful and loving personality.

Miranda:

1154 Diagonal Dots Scarf – I think the caramel macchiato color combination would look beautiful next to Miranda’s fiery red hair.
