I have decided that every single week, I will focus on at least one famous scarf that has graced pop culture with its presence, because who says Audrey Hepburn’s little black dress or  Molly Ringwald’s pink prom gown should hog all the spotlight?

The very first cinematic scarf I will highlight in this blog is the infamous green scarf worn by Isla Fisher’s character Rebecca in 2009’s “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”

Confessions of a Shopoholic

In this lovable chick-flick, Rebecca, a journalist, finds herself out of a job and in desperate need of a new gig, preferably one at a fabulous fashion magazine in New York City.

Somehow accidentally, however, Becca lands a job at a financial magazine, and begins an extremely popular column under the pseudonym ‘Girl in the Green Scarf.’ This title is inspired by one of Becca’s most recent impulse buys, a luscious (and expensive) forest green scarf.

The accordion pleats and simply sleek look may have made for a beautiful accessory, but it also made for a lot of trouble and adventure for one sweet shopaholic!

Other characters and actors in this film include:

Hugh Dancy as Luke

Krysten Ritter as Suze

Joan Cusack and John Goodman as Rebecca’s parents, Jane and Graham
