In a galaxy far, far away, there was a spectacular scarf company known as Zazou.

Zazou was smart to invest in scarves, because everyone, may they be a spaceship pilot or a Jedi warrior, needs to stay warm, and a scarf is the perfect accessory to do just that.

As you may have guessed, this most recent addition of “Scarf Stars”  focuses on the one, the only, “Star Wars.”

In 1980, the second “Star Wars” film was made by George Lucas. It was “Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back,” and one of the settings within its famous plot is that of the icy planet Hoth, in which white snow constantly falls from the sky and blankets the ground below.

While traveling in Hoth, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) must brace the cold by wrapping themselves in thick coats, goggles, caps and scarves.

In the end, however, even the warmth of their thick scarves and clothes cannot shield them from the snowy tundra. All that can save Luke in the end is the cozy, albeit gruesome, innards of his Tauntaun. Desperate times call for desperate measures, as they say.

Later in the film, in the warmer comforts of the Millennium Falcon, Solo dons another scarf, which keeps his hot head attached to his neck as he screams at the ever-startled C-3PO (Anthony Daniels).

I have officially discovered a new trick in fashion: if you are ever unsure of what to wear, whether the stylish conundrum pertains to the weather, location or occasion, you can always get cues and tips from movies.

Want to know what to wear in New York? Watch “Friends with Benefits” or “Sex in the City.” Want to know what to wear as an undercover agent? Watch “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

But, if you want to know what to wear during a chilly winter in London, look no further than 2006’s “The Holiday,” starring Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Jack Black and the sleek, chic Cameron Diaz.

In “The Holiday,” two single women in love-ruts swap homes for the holiday season. Cameron’s character, Amanda Woods, “vacations” in London whereas Kate’s character, Iris Simpkins, moves into Amanda’s LA pad.

As the movie’s plot will inform you, the changes of scenery are what these seemingly unlucky women need to turn things around.

And, while falling in love and changing her ways, Cameron’s character, specifically, dresses in darling, winter-ready ensembles in shabby chic palettes, complete with adorable winter caps and cuddly scarves.

Arguably her cutest accessory, however, is that of Graham, played by Jude Law (who is rocking a sweet man scarf himself)! P.S. If you would like to check out scarves for yourself or your customers, visit zazou.com

Welcome back to  Scarf Stars, where we attempt to stock the Hollywood Square cubicles with fabulously famous scarves (or, in actuality, have some fun with scarves in cinema).

Today’s celebrity accessory was not necessarily made for style, but for practical reasons instead, because winter in the home town of Ralph, Randy and the Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle, is as snowy and cold as it gets.

A Christmas Story

To protect himself from the nose-nipping air, Randy from 1983’s “A Christmas Story” rocks one thick, wool scarf that covers his neck and the majority of his face.

Randy

The bulky scarf, however, is the least of Randy’s worries, seeing as his padded red snow suit prohibits him from even putting his arms down!

Stay warm Randy, and if you want to trade in your scarf-mask for some sleeker, less binding garments, check out  scarves at http://www.zazou.com!
