What Zazou Stands for in Fall

The themes of the Zazou Fall 2013 Collection have been briefly mentioned in previous posts. To refresh your memory, the three pillars of Zazou include Luminosity, Texture and Warmth.

When creating these three standards, designer Christopher Carroll had very specific messages in mind. He wanted to convey the attributes of Zazou scarves and fingerless gloves that stand out the most and that mean the most to the customers that enjoy the products.

Many pieces in the Fall line are luminous in the way that the sequins, glitter or pure sheen of the fabric reflect the light. Some of the accessories, including the Japanese Deco scarf, are magically reflective and pure, and it all stems from the illuminating qualities of the jacquard fabric.

Zazou masterpieces are also rich in their texture as well, meaning that one accessory can not only dazzle your eyes, but your sense of touch as well. Two of the most texturally interesting pieces include the Floating Thread Wrap scarf and the Angel Hair scarf. The two items are made of silk with either thread of a different solid color or metallic color intricately weaved throughout the design. It was made sure in the creation process, however, that the silk part of the scarf was the section that touched your delicate skin, and the other, more textured threads created a type of plumage on the outer section of the scarf so as not to irritate the wearer’s collarbone and neck area.

Lastly, one of the most basic, utilitarian purposes of a scarf or glove is to keep its owner warm and safe from the elements, Luckily for the stylish women of 2013, Zazou scarves keep them toasty, while maintaining chic designs and vibrant prints and patterns. Some of the warmest pieces come from the collection of knits designs by Carroll. One such comfy creation is that of Lattice Knit Scarf, which is available in green. black and plum grey. These deeper hues personify the the earthy warmth that these knit pieces provide. Additionally, most of the knits are adorned with decorative fringe in varying lengths, adding personality to each cozy wrap.

Zazou Website Redesign!

The time for Fall fashion has arrived! And with it has come a redesigned and updated Zazou retail and wholesale website!

 

New images, blurbs and descriptions are now available for your viewing and shopping pleasure on the Zazou homepage!

The Parquet de Versailles is the new headliner, and the new themes for Fall are also prominently featured. The themes include Luminosity, Texture and Warmth.

Also, on the lower right hand side of the page resides three new images that have been highlighted as favorite picks by Zazou! These three pieces include the Japanese Deco scarf, the Lettuce Edge scarf and the Angel Hair scarf. All are beautiful in their own, unique way, and they each represent a different theme of the Zazou Fall 2013 collection!

Zazou Photo Shoot – Gilded Gauze Wrap

 

Everyone will gleefully gaze at this gauze wrap when you wear it on a cool afternoon! Its ombre effect transitions from an off-white color to a striped blue-grey, and its unfinished edges give it a casual, bohemian style perfect for laid back days hanging out with friends.

Internship – DAY 15!

Fifteen days, 120 hours, 1,140 miles. The experience of an internship: priceless!

My little zebras, I have dedicated many hours and driven many miles to Sterling Styles and Zazou, but even those figures above surprised me!

For my shift today, I will be making the finishing touches on our NYNOW365 ad campaign (the one that is similar to Pinterest), and I will also be pitching my ideas about the Zazou website to Christopher Carroll and other people involved.

I will also be posting as much as I can to this blog today, seeing as there will be a limited amount of updates in the near future.

One of my favorite projects I have done here, however, is that of the internship guide I wrote on Tuesday. Although it was not a requirement of this internship or the Apparel Merchandising and Management class associated with it, I thought it would be nice to proved pages with tips, usernames and passwords for any future interns who are lucky enough to work for Sterling Styles and Zazou. Hopefully it will be of use to any Cal Poly Pomona students who sit at this desk.

Zazou Photo Shoot – Feather Weave Wrap

For Fall 2013, Zazou embraced three main concepts: Luminosity, Texture and Warmth. The 6504 Feather Weave Wrap truly embodies the second characteristic: texture.

This scarf wholesales for $18 and is 36″ by 75″, making it one of the wider scarves in the collection. It is made of soft blended yarn, and the frayed fringe feathers out at the edges.  It is also available in three colors, including black (shown), zinc and pearl. All colors are classy, elegant and must haves for the upcoming season.

The name of this Zazou Fall 203 scarf fits perfectly with the item: 6519 Shimmer Knit Scarf. ALthough the scarf is a fringed knit, t still boasts metallic qualities, including the shimmering silver specks that dapple the body of the scarf.

Like its counterparts, the Dipped Knit and the Ombre Butterknit, the Shimmer Knit is booming with playful fringe. This accessory wholesales for $16 and is 7″ by 68″ butterknit with long fringe. It is available in four colors: icy grey (shown), slate, bisque and balsam green.
